  • Account information: Your name and email address provided through Google Sign-In.
  • Precise location: When you shake your phone or manually capture a location, we collect your GPS coordinates to save the place.
  • Coarse location: When you use the Explore feature, we use your approximate location to find nearby places.
  • Photos: Photos you choose to attach to your saved locations are uploaded and stored.
  • User content: Notes, reviews, list descriptions, and other content you create within the app.
  • Device token: We collect your push notification token to send you notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the Shake Locate service.
  • Save and display your captured locations, lists, and shared content.
  • Show nearby places based on your current location.
  • Send push notifications about activity relevant to you.
  • Improve app performance and fix issues.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes. Your data is shared only in the following circumstances:

  • With other users: Locations and lists you choose to share publicly or with specific followers are visible to those users.
  • Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, data storage, and image hosting. These providers process data on our behalf.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services. Photos are stored in Firebase Storage. Account and location data is stored in Firestore. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.

5. Your Rights

You can:

  • View and edit your profile information within the app.
  • Delete individual locations, lists, and content you have created.
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

6. Third-Party Services

Shake Locate uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Firebase: Authentication, database, storage, and crash reporting.
  • Google Sign-In: Account authentication.
  • Apple MapKit: Map display and location search.
  • TripAdvisor API: Nearby place discovery.

7. Children

Shake Locate is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the date above.
